More Fun Times

Here is another layout that I did using the kit Playtime Fun Bundle by LorieM Designs. It is still available in Pickleberrypop and Gottapixel.

On another note, the other day we decided to buy a much needed printer. We bought an Epson T13 that was bundled with CIS (Continuous Ink System) so that we can save loads on ink expenses. I was excited to try it out and thus printed out all of Gaby's remaining brag books that were for printing which were about 20 pieces in total. I just used generic premium glossy 4R paper but I still loved how it came out. Once I put it in the album, you couldn't tell which ones where printed at home and which ones were printed in a professional lab. Now I can print all my digiscrapping layouts. It was definitely a good buy.

Fun Times...

Finally! I was able to scrap again and what's more, I was able to make my very first layout for Miki. I need to catch up on scrapping her photos since she's already 7 months and growing right before my eyes each day.

Project: Crochet Headbands

After making the crochet hats, I decided to make my little girls some headbands. Again with the help of video tutorials from YouTube. What I really like about these is that you can just attach the crochet flowers with the help of a button. In that case, you can never have too many colors of crochet flowers so you can mix and match all you want. It's very easy to make and it looks so adorable on them. I'm happy with how it turned out. Sorry for the quality of the pictures since these were taken with my iTouch.

Thanks to momof5daughters for the wonderful and easy to follow tutorial - HERE.

Project: Crochet Hats

When I finally had free time to spend, I was so excited that I didn't know what to do at first. For some time, I spent most of it doing crochet projects for my the little girls. I have been seeing these cute headbands and bonnets with flowers on them and I decided to try my hand at making something like these for my girls. I searched the web and thankfully, I was able to find very helpful video tutorials on crocheting. I needed this badly since the last time I crocheted was way back in high school! It wasn't easy at first, I had a hard time getting the bonnet to fit because I could not find the specified yarn and crochet hook in the crafts store here. In the end, I just altered the instructions to make the bonnets fit. What I love the most about the flowers that I put on these caps is that they are interchangeable because they are just attached using a button, so I can mix and match the different colors. I am quite happy with the results. And I do think others liked it too because when I posted pictures in Facebook, I received several orders from friends for their kids or nieces. Haha, I don't think I'm ready to take orders just yet. I just lovingly made these for my angels. Actually, even my mom wants one for herself. I'll post the headbands next.

Here are my DDs with the bonnets...

Let's Party!

I have been doing custom invitations for all of my DD's birthday parties since she turned 1. I just love designing the layouts according to the theme of the party that by the time she turned 3, my DD has been the one to choose the theme for her party. And then I just have the invites printed at local photo shops. I'm able to save money as compared to having these invitations made by someone else and of course I love the way they come out since I'm the one who made them haha.

Here are Gaby's invites since her first birthday...

Back from a very long hiatus...

Oh my! It's been more than a year since I have last posted on this blog. So many things have happened since then. Just to name a few major events in my life that occurred since late 2009 - I gave birth to another beautiful baby girl who is now 7 months old, finished and graduated from my residency training program, and passed the Diplomate Specialty board exam! It seems little when in writing but those are actually huge milestones for me!

Okay so now I actually have a lot of time in my hands as I haven't started a new work just yet and am currently staying at home and enjoying spending quality time with the kids. Even if I start working again, I'm hoping that I still get to have a pretty relaxed schedule that will give me more time with my family and which would also mean some extra time for me to spend on my projects. I am very way behind my scrapbooking and I really need to catch up. And now that I have the luxury, I am hoping to do just that since I will now be scrapping for 2 kids!

Lastly, before I end this post, I am planning on posting more about different things starting from now on and not just concentrate on digiscrapping anymore. I hope I can do this. :)

P.S. Sharing this - here's me and my DD #2 when she was born last August 2010.
